Breaking Fashion Stereotypes

The Photo Studio Australia is a fashion and portrait photography company that specialises in creating portfolios for aspiring models. 

 

Its mission is to empower people of all ages, sizes, backgrounds to break stereotypes and inspire diversity in the modelling industry. 

The Photo Studio has studios in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

The Role I Played

I worked at The Photo Studio as their Marketing Coordinator for 4 years. From creating engaging content to executing successful paid campaigns across Facebook and Youtube, I thrived in an environment where I could drive results through creative executions. 

One of my biggest achievements was increasing their lead generation by 138% year on year, becoming a key contribution to the studio's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the marketing assistants and team of freelancers.
     

  • Created and implemented digital marketing strategies for paid acquisition channels. (Facebook Business Manager, Youtube Advertising).
     

  • Created, sourced, and managed content for our digital channels (Website, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, EDMs).
     

  • Built meaningful relationships with influencers, particularly with Youtubers.
     

  • Streamlined in-house workflows that increased cost-effectiveness, productivity, and led to better time management.
     

  • Created a content strategy for every buyer persona and their level of engagement with the business.

Curve Model Search

 The Objective:  To generate 5,000 leads through Facebook and Instagram. 
 

The Angle: The concept behind Curve Model Search was to shed light upon the lack of representation of body shapes and sizes within the modelling industry and by default, the media. We wanted to inspire aspiring models to be a part of the change they want to see. 

 

The Partnership: We partnered with Giant Model Management to offer one person a modelling contract with them plus develop their model portfolio with The Photo Studio.

Anucia de Boer was the winner of our Curve Model Search, and ultimately was signed with Giant Model Management. We created a behind-the-scenes video of her photoshoot as marketing material to nurture our clients. It worked as social proof, showing that our product can help them get into the industry.

Collaborations

Although The Photo Studio's main goal is to sell images, the strongest selling point is the actual photoshoot. Most of our clients feel incredibly empowered throughout their shoot. This is a strong motivation for them to keep images that reflect that confidence.  

We realised that partnering with Youtubers was the best way to the experience from beginning to end.
